Why Black and White TV are Not Called The Colour TV?

1

Ever wondered why we don't simply call those old black and white TVs 'color TVs'? It's like a trip down memory lane in the world of television.

Back in the day, black and white TVs were the norm, but they could only display images in shades of gray. So, calling them 'black and white' was a straightforward way to describe their limited color range.

Then, color TVs arrived, transforming screens into colorful canvases with a whole spectrum of hues. To showcase this fantastic leap in technology, they were rightfully named 'color TVs.' Today, with most TVs naturally displaying in color, specifying 'color' isn't necessary. But those classic black and white TVs? They've retained their original name, like cherished relics from a simpler time in the ever-evolving world of television.
